Yashin, Mordechai

Mordechai David ben Avraham Yashin is one of those people you meet and will never forget. His knowledge, directness, and intensity are a unique combination. He is a cosmic Kabbalist who never limits himself to this planet and who sees himself as a galactic being. Mordechai was born in Queens, New York, in the Hebrew year 5708, the same year that the State of Israel was born. The Hebrew date is Yud B'shvat, the tenth day of Aquarius. He attended two New York universities.

After researching several pathways to reach the divine essence, he found that the Hebrew letters had a unique relation to mathematical perfection and that mathematics would be an interesting pathway to the Creator. He began researching that pathway seventeen years ago while living in Del Mar, California. He studied the Zohar and the writings of Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag; Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai; Rabbi Isaac Luria, the Ari Hakadosh; Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzatto, the Ramchal; the Baal Shem Tov; Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the Alter Rebbe of Chabad; and presently he is enthusiastically studying the writings of the Gaon of Vilna.

In the summer of 2002, Mordechai made his first trip to Israel, and after five weeks of extensive travel across the country, he realized that Israel was where he was going to end up, though he didn't know how or when. In 2003 he began lecturing in Phoenix, Arizona, on Kabbalistic astrology as a Rosh Hodesh (first day of the new month) lecture. He felt it was important for young people who wanted to get married to be a bit more aware of the potential attributes of the people they would consider marrying. He found there were many people who were getting married as a gamble, astrologically speaking — gambling on their choices. His students enthusiastically appreciated his perspective on Kabbalistic astrology. Later, Mordechai did weekly Parsha (portion) classes as well, until he came back to Jerusalem, Israel, permanently in 2006.

He is now finalizing his research in elucidating and simplifying the blending of Kabbalah with the astrophysics of planet Earth and the galaxy and doing the same with the book of knowledge, The Keys of Enoch. As he has said many times, "We don't know what we don't know, and it's about time we gave ourselves an honest perspective to make a freewill choice." Mordechai presently lives in Jerusalem, Bli Ayin Hara, with his wife and family.
